ESG & climate resilience

Samkange Castle Estate is designed to a commissioned physical climate risk study, leveraging strong solar potential and protected western-boundary vegetation, with engineered grading and perimeter drainage designed in from the master-plan stage.

Solar resource

Strong, broadly distributed solar potential, with Very High exposure in the northern and north-eastern sections. Underpins net-metered rooftop solar for homes and the estate micro-grid.

Thermal comfort

The estate sits within cool-to-moderate thermal conditions relative to surrounding Harare. Western-boundary vegetation provides natural cooling, protected and supplemented by tree-lined streetscapes.

Water, drainage & flood design

Reticulated water, sewer and power to every stand. No major drainage channel runs through the estate; localised runoff is managed through engineered grading and perimeter drainage, designed in from the master-plan stage.

A benchmark for resilient living

By embedding solar, water security, drainage engineering and environmental monitoring from inception, the estate is positioned as a benchmark for climate-resilient development in Zimbabwe.
